Therapeutic Uses:

  • To control seizures, including partial seizures, generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and mixed seizures in people with epilepsy. However, this medicine does not appear to control absence seizures.
  • To treat trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve pain).
  • To treat acute manic and mixed episodes in people with bipolar disorder type 1 (carbamazepine extended-release capsules. Equetro brand).
