How To Use Armour Thyroid

Armour Thyroid should be taken once a day before breakfast on an empty stomach. Try to take your medicine at around the same time every day. Read the prescription label carefully and ask your healthcare provider if you don’t understand how to take this medication. 

Take Armour Thyroid exactly as prescribed. Do not take a higher or lower dose or take it more or less frequently than advised by your healthcare professional. 

Your provider will start you on a lower dose of Armour Thyroid and gradually increase the dose based on clinical and laboratory evidence of thyroid function. It may take several weeks before you notice an improvement in your symptoms. You will need to take this medicine lifelong to control hypothyroidism. Continue taking Armour Thyroid even if you feel well. Do not stop taking the medicine without talking to your healthcare provider.

Missed dose: If you forget a dose of Armour Thyroid, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store Armour Thyroid at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom, where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused or expired Armour Thyroid should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw Armour Thyroid in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
