How should I use Tolmetin?

Take this drug by mouth. Take it as directed on the prescription label at the same time every day. Do not cut, crush or chew this drug. Swallow the capsules whole. Take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before and 2 hours after food. If it upsets your stomach, take it with a calcium, magnesium, or aluminum hydroxide antacid. Keep taking it unless your health care provider tells you to stop.
A special MedGuide will be given to you by the pharmacist with each prescription and refill. Be sure to read this information carefully each time.
Talk to your health care provider about the use of this drug in children. While it may be prescribed for children as young as 2 for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Patients over 65 years of age may have a stronger reaction and need a smaller dose.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of Tolmetin contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: Tolmetin is only for you. Do not share Tolmetin with others.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
