Urea Tips from Pharmacists
Apply urea to clean dry skin.
Wash your hands after applying urea to prevent it from getting into your eyes. Rinse your eyes with water if urea gets into your eyes. Seek medical care if it causes eye irritation that does not go away after a few minutes.
Apply a thin film of topical urea to the affected area per package instructions. If you are using urea on a nail, try to avoid getting any product on the adjoining skin.
Shake the container well before using urea emulsion, foam, or lotion.
Call your doctor if the application of urea causes redness, rash, or swelling in the treated area. Temporary burning and stinging is common, and these side effects should go away in a few days.
Avoid using cosmetics and other skin products in the affected area as they might interfere with how urea works.
Use urea carefully on your face, being sure to avoid your eyes and lips. Do not put urea on sensitive areas such as the genitals.
