Possible side effects of armodafinil are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or continue after a few days.

• Dizziness
• Headache
• Insomnia (difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep)
• Problems with concentration or focus
• Numbness, tingling, or burning in the hands or feet
• Uncontrolled shaking in any part of the body
• Stomach pain
• Heartburn
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Loss of appetite
• Dry mouth
• Excessive thirst
• Sweating
• Urinary frequency

Some of the adverse effects of armodafinil are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you develop the following symptoms:

• Skin rash, hives, itching, blisters, or peeling skin
• Mouth sores
• Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat, arms, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
• Trouble breathing or swallowing
• Chest pain
• Pounding or irregular heartbeat
• Hoarseness
• Weakness
• Abnormally excited mood
• Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that don’t exist)
• Delusions (believing things that are not true)
• Irritability, anxiety, or depression
• Suicidal thinking
