Flecainide Tips from Pharmacists

  • You can take flecainide without regard to meals. If it causes an upset stomach, taking it with food might help.

  • It can take a few days for you to notice an improvement in your symptoms after starting oral flecainide treatment. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not get better. Do not increase the dose or dosing frequency of this medicine without talking with your doctor.

  • Taking flecainide can make you feel lightheaded and dizzy and cause vision changes. Get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to standing to prevent falls. Be careful while driving and operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

  • Tell your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of heart failure, such as fluid build-up in the legs or shortness of breath.
