Therapeutic Uses:

  • Endocrine disorders associated with low cortisol levels
  • Acute exacerbations of rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis
  • Acute exacerbations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other collagen diseases
  • Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of dermatological conditions like severe psoriasis, severe seborrheic dermatitis, pemphigus, erythema multiforme (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Allergic disorders such as severe asthma, contact dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis
  • Eye conditions such as allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, and optic neuritis
  • Acute exacerbations of multiple sclerosis
  • Respiratory diseases such as sarcoidosis, berylliosis, and aspiration pneumonitis
  • Gastrointestinal conditions such as ulcerative colitis
  • Blood disorders such as acquired autoimmune hemolytic anemia, congenital hypoplastic anemia, and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
  • Certain cancers, such as leukemias and lymphomas
