How To Use Ketorolac

Ketorolac ophthalmic solution comes in the form of an eye drop that is instilled into the affected eye. 

Read the medicine label carefully and use ketorolac ophthalmic exactly as per the prescription label and your doctor’s dosing instructions. Do not apply a higher or lower dose or use it more or less frequently than advised. 

Wash your hands before using the eye drops. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to your eye or skin or anything else. Place one drop of ketorolac in your eye after tilting your head back and pulling down your lower lid to form a pocket. Keep your eye closed for 2-3 minutes after instilling the eye drop. Replace the dropper in the bottle. Do not rinse or wipe the dropper. Wash your hands again to remove any medication.

Missed dose: If you forget a dose of ketorolac, instill it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and instill the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not instill two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store ketorolac at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom, where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused or expired ketorolac should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw ketorolac in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
