How To Use Nystatin - Triamcinolone

A small amount of nystatin triamcinolone should be applied to the affected area twice a day and gently but thoroughly rubbed in. Apply the medicine on clean, dry skin. If you are using this medicine on your face, avoid the area around your eyes. This medicine is for external use only.

Read the prescription label carefully and use nystatin and triamcinolone exactly as prescribed by your health care professional. Do not use more of the medicine or apply it more frequently than your doctor tells you. This medication is usually prescribed for no more than two to three weeks. Continue using nystatin triamcinolone for the duration prescribed even if your skin condition is better.

Do not cover the treated skin area with a bandage or wrap. Wear loose fitting clothing on the affected areas. Tight clothes can lead to increased absorption of the medicine. If you are using nystatin triamcinolone on a child’s diaper area, do not put the child in tight fitting diapers or plastic pants. This can lead to increased absorption of the medicine, which can affect the child’s growth.

Missed dose: If you forget a dose of nystatin triamcinolone, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply extra medicine to make up for a missed application.

Storage: Store nystatin triamcinolone at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in its original container, tightly closed. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused nystatin triamcinolone should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them.
