How To Use Tridesilon
Tridesilon is a cream (other forms of desonide include ointment, lotion, gel, and foam). Wash your hands with soap and water before and after using the medicine. Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected area and gently rub it in. Use the medicine 2-4 times a day as prescribed. Try to apply the cream at around the same times every day.
Read the prescription label and package labeling carefully and use the medicine exactly as directed. Do not apply the cream to other areas of your body or for some other skin condition. Use it only for the condition prescribed. Do not use more of the medicine or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
This medication is for external use only. Make sure it does not get into your eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not use it in your rectal or genital area or in your armpits or skin creases without talking to your doctor first.
Do not cover the affected area with a bandage or wrap unless your healthcare provider tells you to. If you use desonide on a child’s diaper area, do not put the child in tight diapers or plastic overpants.
Note: If you are using other dosage forms of desonide, follow the instructions carefully. These products may have different storage requirements. Desonide lotion should be shaken before use, and the medicine should be allowed to dry before allowing clothes to rub against the skin. The foam is flammable and should be kept away from flames and other heat sources.
Missed dose: If you miss an application of Tridesilon, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and apply the next dose according to your regular schedule. Do not apply extra medicine to make up for a skipped dose.
Storage: Store Tridesilon at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.
Unused medicine: Unused Tridesilon should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw Tridesilon in the trash or flush it down the toilet. The best way to properly discard expired or unneeded Tridesilon is through a drug take-back program or your local waste disposal company. Learn more about proper medication disposal.
