Carisoprodol (Soma) Side Effects

Possible side effects of carisoprodol are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if these side effects are severe or if they do not go away in a few days.

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Stomach upset
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Low blood pressure

Some of the adverse reactions of carisoprodol can be more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you experience:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Seizures

Carisoprodol Overdose:  In case of an overdose of carisoprodol, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Overdose symptoms may include severe muscle twitching, muscle stiffness, loss of coordination, agitation, hallucinations, headache, tremor, shivering, difficulty breathing, seizures, vision changes, enlarged pupils, and severe hypotensive reactions (low blood pressure).
