Alfuzosin Side Effects

Possible side effects of alfuzosin are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or persist after a few days.

  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Stuffy or runny nose
  • Heartburn
  • Upper stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Decreased sexual ability
  • Signs of infection such as fever, chills, cough, and sore throat

Some of the adverse effects of alfuzosin are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following unwanted or dangerous effects:

  • Skin rash, hives, itching
  • Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  • Hoarseness
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Fainting

Alfuzosin Overdose: In case of an overdose, call your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If someone has lost consciousness, collapsed, stopped breathing, or had a seizure, call 911 for emergency medical help. Signs and symptoms of an overdose may include a light headed feeling, dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, and nausea.
