  • Altreno (tretinoin) is applied directly on the affected areas for the treatment of acne vulgaris. 
  • You only need to use this topical treatment once daily at bedtime.
  • It is safe for use in children 9 years of age and older.

  • There is currently no generic available for the Altreno lotion formulation, which contains additional hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid.
  • Altreno (tretinoin) can make your skin more sensitive to ultraviolet (UV light).
  • This may not be the best treatment for acne vulgaris in people with an allergy to fish proteins.
