Altreno Side Effects
The most common adverse reactions occurring with Altreno (tretinoin) lotion formulation are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or do not go away in a few days.
- Mild skin irritation in the treated area with stinging or warmth
- Redness and scaling
- Skin swelling, crusting, or blistering
- Dryness, redness, burning, stinging, peeling, or flaking in the treated area
- Increase in acne (when you first start treatment)
- Skin color changes (lightening or darkening)
Some of the adverse reactions reported with Altreno (tretinoin) use are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:
- Pruritus (itching), rash, or hives
- Pain or discomfort in the affected area

Altrenol Overdose: In case someone swallows Altreno (tretinoin), call a healthcare provider immediately. You can also call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 or emergency services if a person has collapsed, stopped breathing, had a seizure, or is not responding.
