Side Effects


What are Arimidex side effects?

Common side effects of Arimidex include:

  • Headache
  • Weakness, dizziness
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite
  • Heartburn
  • Sweating, hot flashes, or other menopausal symptoms
  • Weight gain
  • Breast pain
  • Muscle, joint, or bone pain
  • Mood changes, depression, nervousness
  • Vaginal bleeding, irritation, or dryness
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Hair thinning
  • Dry mouth
  • Burning, tingling, numbness, or pain in the hands or feet

Talk with your doctor if these side effects are severe or do not get better over time. Some side effects of Arimidex hormone therapy can be more serious. Call your doctor immediately if you experience the following symptoms:

  • Chest pain, shortness of breath, trouble breathing or swallowing
  • Fever, sore throat, cough, swollen glands, or other signs of infection
  • Skin rash, hives, itching, or other signs of an allergic reaction
  • Swelling of the face, hands, or lower legs
  • Ulcers, blisters, or severe skin reaction
  • Warmth, redness, and swelling in the arms or hands
  • Difficulty with urination (pain or urgency)
  • Vision changes such as blurred vision
  • Pain in the upper right part of the abdomen, yellowing of the eyes or skin (signs of liver inflammation)

Arimidex Overdose:  In case of a known or suspected overdose of Arimidex, call your doctor or the local poison control center or go to the nearest ER and get emergency medical help.
