How To Use Bactrim
Bactrim comes as a tablet to be taken by mouth. You can take Bactrim with or without food. Take your medicine at around the same time every day.
Read your prescription label carefully and follow the directions for the correct Bactrim dosage and frequency. Do not take more or less of this medication or take it more or less frequently than prescribed.
Continue taking Bactrim and finish all the medication given by your healthcare provider even if you start to feel well after a few days of treatment. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or are getting worse during Bactrim treatment.
Missed dose: If you miss a dose of Bactrim, take your medicine as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the last dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose.
Storage: Store Bactrim in a tightly closed container at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light. Keep all non-prescription and prescription medications out of reach of children and pets
Unused medicine: Unused Bactrim should be disposed of so that children, pets, and others cannot get to it. Do not flush unneeded or expired Bactrim down the toilet. The best way to dispose of medications is through a drug take-back program. Learn more about proper medication disposal.
