There may be other uses of bisoprolol fumarate—your pharmacist or doctor can give you further drug information.

Bisoprolol Fumarate Mechanism of Action

Bisoprolol fumarate relaxes the blood vessels and slows the heart rate, thereby improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

Bisoprolol Fumarate Doses

Bisoprolol fumarate is available as 5-mg and 10-mg tablets. The dose of bisoprolol fumarate is individualized for each patient to achieve blood pressure control. The typical starting dose is 5 mg once a day, although some patients may need to start at a lower dose of 2.5 mg once daily. The dose can be increased to 10 mg once daily or 20 mg once daily if needed.
