Boostrix Pros and Cons

  • Boostrix is very effective in preventing serious infections like tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. 
  • Adults only need to get vaccinated with Boostrix once in 10 years. 
  • Concomitant vaccination with other vaccines is possible. For example, Boostrix administered concomitantly with a meningococcal conjugate vaccine.
  • Tdap (Boostrix) is widely available.

  • Boostrix is an injectable vaccine and must be given by a healthcare provider in a clinic or pharmacy.
  • It is only for adults and children 10 years of age and above.
  • Boostrix contains latex and may not be suitable for people with a latex allergy.
