How To Use Cabergoline

Take cabergoline twice a week as prescribed. You can take this medicine with or without food.

Read the prescription label and patient information leaflet carefully. Take cabergoline exactly as your doctor advised. Do not change the dose or dosing frequency without your doctor’s approval.

Your doctor will start you on a low dose and gradually increase the dose if needed. Dosage increases are done at intervals of 4 weeks or more. Do not stop cabergoline treatment without talking to your doctor first. The dose may need to be reduced slowly.

Missed dose: If you miss a dose of cabergoline, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose or extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store cabergoline between 15-30° C or 59-86° F (at room temperature) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused cabergoline should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot access it. Do not flush cabergoline down the toilet.
