Clarithromycin Uses

Clarithromycin is used to treat bacterial infections in many parts of the body, including the lungs (pneumonia, chronic bronchitis), skin, sinuses, ears, and throat. It is also used to eliminate Helicobacter pylori (this is a bacteria that causes stomach and duodenal ulcer disease), in combination with other medications. In addition, clarithromycin is used to prevent Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), an infection that occurs in people with HIV.

There may be other uses of clarithromycin—your pharmacist or doctor can give you further drug information.
