Combipatch Tips from Pharmacists
Mark the days of the week that you will change your Combipatch on a calendar to help you remember. Consistently change the skin patch on the same days each week.
Your doctor will prescribe the lowest dose for the shortest duration to treat your symptoms. Keep your healthcare appointments while using Combipatch. Your healthcare provider will reassess you every 3-6 months to see if you need to continue hormonal therapy.
Remove the old Combipatch before applying a new one. Do not apply more than one patch at any given time.
Apply the Combipatch to clean, dry, smooth skin on your lower abdomen. Avoid skin that is damaged or irritated. Avoid using lotions, creams, or other oily skin products in the area as this can cause Combipatch to fall off.
Check to see if the skin patch is still in place after bathing and other water activities.
Tell your healthcare provider if you experience abnormal vaginal bleeding (heavy menstrual periods, bleeding between periods, or prolonged bleeding). These can be signs of uterine cancer. Also, tell your provider if you notice any breast changes such as a lump.
