Dexbrompheniramine, Phenylephrine, Dextromethorphan Mechanism of Action
Dexbrompheniramine is an antihistamine. It works by blocking the effects of a natural chemical histamine in the body that causes allergy symptoms. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant. It shrinks blood vessels in the nose and reduces stuffy nose and swelling in the nasal passages. Dextromethorphan is an antitussive or cough suppressant. It suppresses activity in the part of the brain that can trigger the cough reflex.
