Diclofenac Potassium Tips from Pharmacists
You can take diclofenac potassium with or without food. If taking this medicine on an empty stomach causes stomach upset, taking it with food or milk might help. However, taking diclofenac potassium with food can slow its absorption and make it less effective.
Do not switch your prescribed diclofenac formulation with any other, even if it is the same dosage in milligrams. Different diclofenac products are absorbed differently and dosed differently.
Diclofenac powder for solution (Cambia) can treat migraine attacks but does not prevent them from occurring. Mix one packet of the powder in a small amount of water and drink it immediately. Do not take more than one dose of this formulation.
Diclofenac potassium can increase your risk of bleeding. Tell your doctor without delay if you develop any unusual bruising or bleeding.
Do not take other NSAIDs at the same time as diclofenac potassium as this can lead to an increased risk of stomach bleeding, heart attack, and stroke.
