  • There are many different formulations including tablets, capsules, and a powder for oral solution. In addition, another salt, diclofenac sodium, is available as extended release tablets and delayed release tablets.

  • You may need to take diclofenac potassium several times a day.
  • This medication is not for children (except Zipsor capsules, which are approved for children 12 years of age and older).
  • Diclofenac potassium can harm the unborn baby if it is taken during pregnancy, especially after 20 weeks (second trimester).
  • Diclofenac potassium may not be safe for older adults (age 65 plus) and those with kidney, liver, or heart disease.
