How To Use Dymista
Use Dymista 1 spray in each nostril twice a day. This medication is for use via the nasal route only.
Shake the bottle gently before using. When you use Dymista Nasal Spray for the first time, prime it by releasing 6 sprays or until you see a fine mist. If you don’t use the medication for 14 days or longer, re-prime it with 1 spray or until you see a fine mist.
Avoid getting the nasal spray into your eyes. If the medicine gets into your eyes, rinse your eyes thoroughly with water for at least 10 minutes.
Read the prescription label carefully and use Dymista as exactly directed. Do not change the dose or dosing frequency unless your doctor tells you.
Do not share your nasal spray with others as this can lead to the spread of infections.
Here are some tips on using Dymista Nasal Spray:
- Remove the cap and safety clip.
- Prime the nasal spray if you are using it for the first time. You should do this by holding the spray away from your face and pumping it 6 times in the air until you see a fine mist. Pump it 1 time if you haven’t used the nasal spray for 14 days or longer.
- Tilt your head forward, close one nostril with a finger, and insert the spray tip into the other nostril. Make sure you keep the bottle upright.
- Spray one pump of medicine and breathe through your nose (this will prevent the medicine from going to your throat).
- Repeat in the other nostril.
- Store the bottle with the cap tightly closed.
Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose of Dymista, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose or extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
Storage: Store Dymista at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in its original container, tightly closed. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.
Unused medicine: Unused Dymista should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw Dymista in the trash or flush it down the toilet. The best way to dispose of expired or unneeded Dymista is through a drug take-back program. Learn more about proper medication disposal.
