Eletriptan (Relpax) Side Effects

Possible side effects of eletriptan are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or if they do not go away in a few days.

  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea
  • Heartburn
  • Upset stomach
  • Dry mouth
  • Feeling cold or warm

Some of the adverse effects of eletriptan are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:

  • Severe, worsening, or persistent chest tightness, pressure, pain, or heaviness 
  • Pain in the jaw, neck, or throat
  • Weakness or numbness on one side of the body
  • Trouble speaking, slow speech, or difficult speech
  • Sudden severe abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Bloody diarrhea
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
  • Lightheadedness
  • Cold sweat
  • Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  • Hoarseness
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Skin rash, hives, itching
  • Pale or blue fingers and toes
  • Burning, tingling, or pain in the hands or feet 

The above list may not include all the potential side effects of eletriptan. Contact your healthcare provider if your side effects are unusual or severe or if they do not get better over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Eletriptan (Relpax) Overdose: In case of an overdose of eletriptan, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, stopped breathing, is not responding, or has had a seizure.
