• Enalapril can cause dizziness by lowering blood pressure. Stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position to lower your risk of falls, especially when you first start taking enalapril and after dose adjustments.

• Tell your doctor if you don’t notice any improvement in high blood pressure 2 weeks after starting enalapril. Your doctor may increase your dose or switch you to another blood pressure medicine.

• Do not take salt substitutes without talking to your doctor for medical advice. This can lead to dangerously high potassium levels in the body.

• Call your doctor if you find out you’re pregnant while on enalapril. This medicine can be harmful to an unborn baby.
