Uses
Enalapril (Vasotec) Uses
Enalapril belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors. It is used to treat high blood pressure. This medicine is also used to treat congestive heart failure and to prevent heart failure in people with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction.
There may be other uses of enalapril—your pharmacist or doctor can give you further drug information.
Enalapril (Vasotec) Mechanism of Action
Enalapril helps in lowering blood pressure by blocking the action of an enzyme that tightens blood vessels. It allows smoother flow of blood and more efficient pumping of blood by the heart.

Enalapril is available as a 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg tablet and a 1 mg/mL oral solution.
