Entresto Tips from Pharmacists

  • Taking Entresto with other angiotensin receptor antagonists (ARBs) or within 36 hours of an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor can increase the risk of side effects because these drugs act on the renin-angiotensin system. If you were previously on an ACE inhibitor medicine, wait 36 hours before starting Entresto. Do not take any ACE inhibitors or ARBs while on this medicine.

  • Entresto can cause you to feel lightheaded and dizzy. Tell your doctor if these symptoms are severe or do not go away after a few days. Arise slowly from a lying or sitting position, rest your feet on the floor for a few minutes, and then stand up to prevent this from occurring.

  • Entresto is available only in tablet form. If you or your child have problems swallowing tablets, ask your pharmacist to make a liquid suspension of the medicine for you. You can store the suspension for up to 15 days at room temperature.
