Farxiga Side Effects

Some of the common adverse reactions of Farxiga use are listed below. Tell your doctor if these symptoms are severe or do not go away after a few days.

• Increased thirst
• Increased urination

Rarely, Farxiga can cause more severe adverse effects. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you experience symptoms such as:

• Burning or pain with urination, frequency, urgency
• Brown, red, pink, or cloudy urine
• Foul-smelling urine
• Decreased amount of urine
• Rectal or pelvic pain
• In women, signs of yeast infections such as vaginal itching, vaginal odor, vaginal discharge that looks like cottage cheese
• In men, itching, redness, pain, swelling around the penis, rash on the penis, foul-smelling discharge from the penis
• Fatigue, weakness, fever, pain, redness, swelling in the genitals
• Swelling of the legs and feet

Farxiga can cause an allergic reaction in some people. Stop taking Farxiga and call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you experience signs and symptoms of serious hypersensitivity reactions such as:

• Rash, hives, itching
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Swelling of the face, throat, tongue, mouth, or lips
• Hoarseness

Stop taking Farxiga and call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you experience signs and symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis such as:

• Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
• Difficulty breathing
• Fatigue

Farxiga Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, immediately call your doctor or the local poison control center. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911.
