Fluocinonide Tips from Pharmacists

  • Apply fluocinonide to clean, dry, intact skin.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water after applying fluocinonide to prevent it from getting into your eyes. If the medicine gets into your eyes, rinse your eyes with water. Seek medical attention if you develop eye irritation.

  • Call your doctor if the application of fluocinonide causes redness, rash, or swelling in the treated area. Temporary burning and stinging is common, and these side effects should go away in a few days.

  • Avoid using cosmetics and other skin products in the affected area, as they might interfere with how fluocinonide works.

  • Do not use fluocinonide on your face, underarms, or groin. This medicine is for external use only. Do not use it on your eyes, mouth, genital or rectal areas.

  • Do not place dressings or bandages on the treated area. This can increase the absorption of fluocinonide into the body and increase your risk of serious side effects.
