There may be other uses of fluorometholone—your doctor or pharmacist can give you further drug information.

Fluorometholone (FML) Mechanism of Action

Fluorometholone works by inhibiting the inflammatory response in the eye, specifically in the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the globe.

Fluorometholone (FML) Doses

The usual dose of fluorometholone eye drops is one drop instilled in the affected eye 2-4 times a day. The dose of fluorometholone ointment is a 1/2-inch ribbon applied to the affected eye 1-3 times daily. During the first 24-48 hours of treatment, the frequency of fluorometholone application may be increased to every 4 hours.
