Follistim AQ Side Effects

Possible side effects of Follistim AQ are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or continue after a few days.

  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Pelvic pain or pelvic discomfort
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Ovarian cyst (pelvic pain, bloating, urinary frequency, heavy periods)
  • Enlargement of the breasts or breast soreness or breast tenderness
  • Joint pains
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Injection site reaction (pain, redness)

Follistim AQ can also cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:

  • Allergic reactions (shallow breathing, rash, swelling)
  • Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) with signs and symptoms such as severe pelvic pain, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid weight gain, difficulty breathing, or reduced urine output
  • Lung problems with trouble breathing
  • Heart attack (chest tightness, chest pain)
  • Stroke (numbness or weakness on one side of the body, sudden trouble walking or talking)
  • Ectopic pregnancy (severe pelvic pain, unusual vaginal bleeding)

Follistim AQ Overdose: In case of an overdose of Follistim AQ, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center on 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if someone has collapsed, is not responding, has stopped breathing, or has had a seizure.
