Indomethacin Tips from Pharmacists
Indomethacin can cause side effects like nausea and upset stomach. Taking the medicine with food can help to minimize these adverse effects.
You should swallow indomethacin capsules whole. Do not crush, chew, or split them.
Shake the bottle of indomethacin oral suspension well before use. Measure the liquid medicine using a dose-measuring cup and not a household spoon.
Taking indomethacin with aspirin or another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug can increase the risk of serious stomach bleeding. Talk to your doctor about alternatives if you take aspirin on a daily basis.
If you are allergic to aspirin, you could have an allergic reaction to indomethacin as well. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have an NSAID allergy.
