Albuterol and Ipratropium Side Effects
Possible side effects of albuterol and ipratropium are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or last more than a few days.
- Headache
- Nervousness
- Uncontrolled shaking
Albuterol and ipratropium can also cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:
- Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
- Skin rash, hives, itching
- Swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue, throat, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
- Trouble breathing or swallowing
- Chest pain
- Difficulty urinating
- Fever, chills, sore throat, or other signs of infection
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of albuterol and ipratropium. Emergency medical care should be sought immediately if your side effects are unusual or severe or do not get better over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Albuterol and ipratropium Overdose: In case of an overdose of albuterol and ipratropium, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, cannot breathe, has had a seizure, or cannot be awakened. Overdose symptoms may include chest pain and fast or irregular heartbeat.
