Letrozole (Femara) Tips from Pharmacists

  • You can take letrozole without regard to meals. Try to take the medicine at around the same time every day.

  • Letrozole can make you drowsy and dizzy. Avoid driving and operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

  • Taking Femara (letrozole) can lead to decreased bone mineral density and increased risk of bone fractures. Talk to your doctor about taking calcium and vitamin D or other medications to improve bone health.

  • Keep all your medical and lab appointments during letrozole therapy. Your doctor may want to order blood tests to check cholesterol levels and liver function while you are on this medicine.
