Librax (Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium) Tips from Pharmacists

  • Take Librax 30-60 minutes before meals on an empty stomach. Taking this medicine with food can interfere with its absorption.

  • Do not stop taking Librax suddenly. This can cause acute withdrawal signs.

  • Before starting Librax, tell your doctor if you have a history of mental illness or substance use disorder. Use Librax exactly as prescribed. This medicine carries risk of drug addiction and overdose.

  • Librax can cause drowsiness and increase your risk of falling or accidental injury. Do not drive or do any hazardous activities until you know how it affects you.

  • Avoid drinking alcohol while on Librax because this can increase the risk of severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, coma, and death.
