Loteprednol (Lotemax) Tips from Pharmacists
To avoid contamination and the risk of infections, wash your hands before using loteprednol. Do not touch the tube or dropper tip to your eye or any other surface. Also, do not rinse or wash the dropper after use.
Do not wear contact lenses if you are using the gel or ointment. Ask your doctor if you can continue wearing contact lenses with loteprednol suspension. If you do so, remove your contact lenses before instilling loteprednol and wait 10-15 minutes before reinserting them.
Allow 5-10 minutes between loteprednol and other topical eye medications.
Call your doctor if your allergic conjunctivitis symptoms do not improve after 2 days of using loteprednol.
Keep all your medical and lab appointments. Your doctor may want to monitor intraocular pressure if you are on loteprednol for more than 10 days.
