How To Use Meloxicam

Meloxicam comes in the form of a tablet, capsule, and liquid to be taken by mouth once a day. You can take meloxicam with or without food. You can cut or crush meloxicam tablets; however, you should swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. If you are taking meloxicam oral suspension, shake the bottle well before use. Measure the dose using a dose-measuring device (cup or syringe) and not a household spoon.

Take meloxicam at around the same time every day. This will help you remember to take your medicine.

Follow the instructions on your prescription label carefully and use meloxicam exactly as directed. Do not take a higher or lower dose of this medicine or take it more or less frequently than your doctor prescribes. 

Missed dose: If you miss a dose of meloxicam, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store meloxicam at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused meloxicam should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw meloxicam in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
