How To Use Menopur

Menopur (menotropins for injection) should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare provider who is experienced in infertility treatment and who will closely monitor you during therapy. This medication contains gonadotropins that can cause complications in the reproductive organs, such as ovarian enlargement and OHSS with or without pulmonary and vascular complications as well as multiple births. Treatment with gonadotropins requires appropriate monitoring facilities to be available. 

Menopur (menotropins for injection) is supplied in sterile vials. Before injecting Menopur, inspect the vial and ensure there are no floating particles or discoloration of the injection solution. Follow the step-by-step instructions and inject Menopur subcutaneously (under the skin) into your abdomen once a day as directed.

Read the prescribing information carefully and take Menopur exactly as directed. Do not change the dose, dosage frequency, or treatment duration without your doctor’s approval.

Missed dose: If you miss a dose of Menopur, call your healthcare provider for further dosing instructions. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store Menopur in the refrigerator or at room temperature (between 37°F to 77°F (3°C to 25°C) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Protect this medication from light. Use it immediately after reconstitution and discard any unused solution. Do not store any medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused Menopur should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw Menopur in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
