Menopur Side Effects

Possible adverse effects of Menopur are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or continue after a few days.

• Abdominal cramps or discomfort
• Bloating
• Stomach pain
• Headache
• Injection site pain and inflammation
• Thrombophlebitis (blood clot or inflammation of a vein)

Menopur can also cause some serious side effects. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you develop the following symptoms:

• Signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash, hives, itching, swelling)
• Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
• Chest pain
• Signs of OHSS (rapid weight gain of more than 2 pounds a day, severe abdominal pain, distention, nausea, vomiting, decreased urination) 
• Signs of ectopic pregnancy (abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, vaginal bleeding)

Menopur Overdose: In case of an overdose of Menopur, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if someone has collapsed, is not responding, has stopped breathing, or has had a seizure.
