  • You need to apply minoxidil twice a day regularly to prevent hair loss and see results. 
  • Stopping use of this medication results in the loss of new hair growth within a few months.
  • Minoxidil application can cause changes in hair texture and color.
  • There can be some temporary hair shedding when you first start using it.
  • Topical minoxidil works for androgenetic alopecia only. It does not correct other types of hair loss, for example, hair loss due to chemotherapy drugs.
