How To Use Mydayis

Take the Mydayis extended-release capsule once daily in the morning. This is an extended release medication that slowly releases the medicine in the body. You can take Mydayis with or without food but you must do so consistently (always with food or always on an empty stomach). Avoid taking Mydayis in the evening or at night as it can cause sleep problems.

Swallow the Mydayis capsules whole. Do not cut, crush, or chew them. However, if you have trouble swallowing Mydayis capsules, you can open them and sprinkle the contents on a tablespoon of applesauce. Take the medicine immediately after opening the capsule. Do not store the applesauce mixture for later use.

Your healthcare professional will start you on a low dose of Mydayis and gradually increase the dose, if needed, to treat symptoms of ADHD. Read the prescription label and follow your doctor’s dosing instructions carefully. Do not take a higher dose or take the medicine more frequently than prescribed. Mydayis is a stimulant drug and can be habit-forming. Taking it other than exactly as prescribed can lead to physical and psychological dependence and addiction.

Mydayis can help to control ADHD symptoms but does not cure the condition. Do not stop taking Mydayis even if you feel well. Stopping treatment suddenly can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as fatigue and depression.

Your healthcare provider will interrupt treatment with Mydayis from time to time to assess the need for continued ADHD medication. They will tell you how to reduce the dose slowly.

Missed dose: If you miss a dose of Mydayis, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose or extra medicine to make up for a missed dose. Talk to your doctor about how late in the day you can take your Mydayis dose. Taking this medicine too close to bedtime can cause trouble sleeping.

Storage: Store Mydayis at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in its original container, tightly closed. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused Mydayis should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw Mydayis in the trash or flush it down the toilet. The best way to dispose of expired or unneeded Mydayis is through a drug take-back program or your local waste disposal company. Learn more about proper medication disposal
