Ozempic Side Effects

Some of the common side effects of Ozempic are listed below. Tell your doctor if you have severe adverse gastrointestinal reactions or if they do not go away after a few days.

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Heartburn
  • Burping

Ozempic can also cause more serious side effects in a small number of people. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical care if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Persistent severe abdominal pain (severe pain in the upper left or middle part of the abdomen) that may spread to the back (this can occur with or without vomiting) - these can be symptoms of pancreatitis
  • Signs and symptoms of serious hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions) such as rash, hives, itching, swelling of the face, eyes, mouth, throat, or tongue
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Swelling of legs, ankles, or feet
  • Decreased urination
  • Muscle cramps
  • Vision changes
  • Dizziness or fainting
  • Rapid heartbeat

Ozempic Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, call your doctor, the local poison control center, or the provincial poison control center immediately. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911.
