What may interact with PHEXXI?
Interactions are not expected. This birth control may be used with other medicines used in the vagina to treat infections including miconazole, metronidazole, and tioconazole. If you have questions ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use any other vaginal products at the same time without talking to your health care professional.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take PHEXXI?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-frequent kidney or urinary tract infections
-HIV or AIDS
-pelvic or vaginal infection
-sexually transmitted disease, like herpes, gonorrhea, or chlamydia
-an unusual or allergic reaction to lactic acid, citric acid, potassium bitartrate, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding
What should I watch for while using PHEXXI?
This product does not protect you against HIV infection (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted diseases.
This product may be used at any time of your menstrual cycle. This product may be used as soon as your healthcare provider tells you it is safe for you to have sex after childbirth, abortion, or miscarriage.
This product may be used with most hormonal birth control methods; a vaginal diaphragm; or latex, polyurethane and polyisoprene condoms. Avoid using this product with contraceptive vaginal rings.
Where should I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep in the foil pouch until ready for use. Follow the directions on the product label. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
