Plan B One-Step Side Effects
Common side effects of Plan B One-Step morning-after pill are listed below. Call your doctor if these side effects are severe or persist after a few days.
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Tender breasts
- Spotting between menstrual periods
- Lighter or heavier bleeding in the next menstrual cycle
Rarely, Plan B One-Step can cause more serious side effects. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:
- Severe lower abdominal pain (this can occur 3 to 5 weeks after taking Plan B One-Step)

Plan B One-Step Overdose: In case of an overdose of Plan B One-Step, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the local poison control center or national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If a person cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has had a seizure, call 911. Symptoms of an overdose may include nausea and vomiting.
