Polytrim (POLYMYXIN B / TRIMETHOPRIM) Side Effects

Possible side effects of Polytrim are listed below. Tell your doctor if these side effects are severe or do not go away in a few days.

  • Temporary eye irritation (redness, burning, stinging)
  • Eye tearing

Sometimes, Polytrim can cause more severe side effects. Call your doctor without delay or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following serious symptoms:

  • Skin rash
  • Itching
  • Swelling of the eyelids

Polytrim Overdose: In case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If a person cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has had a seizure, call 911.
