Prasugrel (Effient) Side Effects

Possible side effects of prasugrel are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or still present after a few days.

  • Tiredness
  • Dizziness
  • Cough
  • Arm, leg, or back pain

Some of the adverse effects of prasugrel are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:

  • Fever
  • Weakness
  • Pale skin
  • Purple skin patches
  • Slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat
  • Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • Confusion
  • Headache
  • Convulsions
  • Slow speech, trouble speaking
  • Sudden weakness or numbness in an arm or leg
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes
  • Decreased urination
  • An unusual or allergic reaction with skin rash, hives, itching
  • Allergic reactions with swelling of the face, eyes, lips, mouth, tongue, throat, or limbs

Prasugrel (Effient) Overdose: In case of an overdose of prasugrel, call your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if someone has collapsed, stopped breathing, had a seizure, or is not responsive.
