Primidone (Mysoline) Side Effects

Possible side effects of primidone are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if these side effects are severe or persistent.

  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Poor coordination
  • Balance problems
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Decreased appetite
  • Vision problems, such as double vision
  • Abnormal eye movements
  • Sexual dysfunction

Rarely, primidone can cause more serious problems. Tell your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:

  • Serious skin reactions (skin rash, hives, itching, blistering, peeling skin)
  • Chest pain
  • Trouble breathing
  • Extreme tiredness or weakness
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Lower back pain or flank pain

Primidone (Mysoline) Overdose: In case of an overdose of primidone, call your doctor right away. You can also call your local poison control center or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 or emergency services if a person has collapsed, cannot breathe, has had a seizure, or cannot be awakened.
