What side effects may I notice from receiving Provera?

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
-breast tenderness or discharge
-changes in mood or emotions, such as depression
-changes in vision or speech
-pain in the abdomen, chest, groin, or leg
-severe headache
-skin rash, itching, or hives
-sudden shortness of breath
-unusually weak or tired
-yellowing of skin or eyes

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
-acne
-change in menstrual bleeding pattern or flow
-changes in sexual desire
-facial hair growth
-fluid retention and swelling
-headache
-upset stomach
-weight gain or loss
